Where are you God?

From the first day of stepping foot on the streets at Kamathipura and New Bombay, there was perhaps no greater emotion than rage that had engulfed my heart and mind.  If it were up to me, I would be quick to become angry and justice would be very swift. How can the one we call Abba-Father possibly be slow to anger when His daughters are being slaughtered physically, emotionally, and spiritually?! Yesterday, on our third and final day of the free community medical clinic, the outreach team walked through row homes of brothels, many with young girls and older women sitting on every step leading up to each floor.  I had the opportunity to walk into a room no larger than 4ft. X 6ft. and speak with a woman who was servicing up to 15 men a day for the past 40 years. She is 55 years old, knows no other reality, and is enslaved by fear to even consider an alternative.  Where are you God?

Two doors down the same street, on the third floor, is a larger room with a trap door that leads upstairs to four “cages”, all the right sizes to hold a small girl.  However, this brothel has been closed for business.  Today, there lives a former madam (overseer and facilitator of the day to day life of the brothel), of whom the gates of her hellish heart could not remain closed. She had met the Great Redeemer. The good news of the gospel was too great to leave the current place and a find a new home.  She has remained ever since and has released her 12 enslaved girls. She now holds weekly prayer meetings and lives and shares the gospel message to the girls in the adjacent rooms, all of which are active brothels.Christ is alive and more present than we ever thought!  He is sovereignly in control and this is only one of many stories we have heard on this trip.Uncle Devaraj had shared during our week that every time he hears such stories, he is reassured that Jesus is alive.  He is indeed alive! Is there still much suffering? Absolutely. Is the Great Redeemer at work? Absolutely! His timing, we must trust, is perfect. He is writing the most amazing stories, all to His Glory.By Winson GeorgeSeven Mile Roadhttp://phillychurchplant.wordpress.com/
